Did You Know?

Pilates exercises build a sturdy body and sound mind fitted to perform every daily task with ease and precision as well as to provide tremendous reserve energy for sports, recreation, and emergencies.

One of the major results of Pilates “Contrology” is gaining the mastery of your mind over the complete control of your body.

Correspondingly, proper diet and sufficient sleep must supplement our exercise in our quest for physical fitness.

Joseph Pilates created a truly effective combination of strengthening and stretching that can work for virtually every body. With the right instruction and guidance, some or all of Pilates’ recommendations can improve anybody’s health and fitness levels.

In Pilates “Contrology” we begin with correct form, basic ab exercises, and slow and controlled breath work. As the method progresses, exercises that engage the different abdominal muscles are added, and the tempo increases.

No matter what you learn in life you must start with the basics.

The variety of moves are important along with tempo. When we use different speeds of movement, we can get more variety in our workout. Also, quicker moves increase the heart rate, add more heat in the body, and gives you that real workout feel. However, do not be fooled by the slower moves. They activate your muscles and give you more time to really hone-in on doing the movements correctly.

“If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old; if it is completely flexible at 60, you are young” …. Joseph Pilates
